danCing shakespeare into an urban garden

it is dance week in san francisco that means free dance classes n shows. Last night was Tango at Zambaleta with Ariel. we got home on the 22 bus after a short session with Devin and another ArieLa n i wrote:

we made a story across the floor.

trying a stitch, churning times rhythmic pulse

our brows cross, divisive shore lines met in the wet pulse,

stacking, stomps, claps,

aisles of couples tip toe,

able agile’ers are high,

ample amblers fall,

myriad laugher forgets a step and doubles

doubt into a, “question!”

this weekend was Hayes Valley Farm, an amazing urban farm in SF that once was a freeway and now learning growth, fava beans, yes! The main volunteer time Sundays 12.30 – 4.30 .

Ariel and Ariel at Hayes Valley Farm

today i read The Poetry of Shakespeare’s Plays in Four Barrel Coffee playing with Henry the Springer Spaniel who belongs to Kate. Shakespeare inspires

Give me a gash, put me to present pain,

Lest this great sea of joys rushing upon me

O’erbear the shores of my morality,

And drown me with their sweetness.

Shakespeare, Pericles

today is the FULL MOON. Bless it up!

fire chant, visits and visit

night sitting memories, tunes play from the visit of the best musician’s travis levity , and nahko, each came two weeks apart, each recorded a song, and jammed, each, left the brief aura of music, ever passing music and in the mean time i went to the east on many vehicles we filled a dingy tan dodge truck with giant steel pieces, rusted, and, new, home, and farmin, precious, and practical, each and all and every goes into the uhaul, its the ride to darks’ new farm,

this is a fire newt you can hold it in your palm. it is docile for if it is eaten certain death follows

spring is in full bloom. wild flowers everywhere. amazing

dark is happy

and on it i much a brownie and trip with the great expanse of road, on my lap in Tulsa, he sleeps, i reap the best of the ipod and meditate with a 40 minute track of breathing chants, and now the chant is still with me, i chant with ariel, i chant alone, i chant in the aids memorial garden, and its an empty hollow, i chant for good work, i chant for creation of good work, i go to second and third interviews for cafe jobs and wonder at the seriousness of men who ask my hopes and dreams over a nine dollar job, at home ariel is sleeping she has had a long day, my mother has returned from costa rica, with my father, i want to call her daily, she is home again, soon they will visit, maybe in june, what will life be like then, much like this, or more purpose…more purpose, i write rhymes for the roadshow, i ponder 420, my love snuggles the blanket and sighs, love to you tonight.

Last night @ Cellspace

So its been done is being done and is done well…The warehouse is clean, each angle seems intentional, the red curtain drapes the length of the side wall, the little bridge is curved and black connecting lofts, their are many excellent things in the Cellspace. Then they say there are more of these. It was a circus, a true circus romp, with a woman who shot an arrow with her legs inverted, yes the amazing marching band, the two or three rhyming mc’s/ Yes they got the show in. Bless it all. I arrived with Phil we had ice on our back and flyers in pockets for Robin’s April 11 Green Festival After Party. There was spaee to dance, and this body creaked. These old bones speak’ed the trippy swing, and flow chi moving movement I do. Lots of them good dancers, lots of facepaint, and pretty people….souls in the bodies come out! And there was Jonathan the 41 year old brother who stopped aging at 28 by playing. We played his Sustainable Living Road Show back on the big ol’ painted up biodiesel vehicle of madman dream tale. Its a beginning and the ending of an excellent day, of sun, of wondering, of following glimers of hope into firecraking connection. The love in my heart is more than this. To be with this love is my mission today. Bless.

Street Asylum: Busking Shakespeare & fool truth @ omshan Tea

“Name Any Shakespeare play and I’ll do a speech from it…”

That’s my line. And if you crossed my path these days usually on Fisherman’s Warf, and had have even the chance of openness in your eyes then you’ve heard it. Chances are you said something like “Midsummer Nights Dream or…” and chances are I took a moment to lay these gorgeous poetic verses at our feet. Got a chance to play and stare into the collective imagination of madman poetic wonder. Yes these be the days were a street poet am i and dollars are what i am trying to sway from passers-by. a busker what can I say? Its vulnerability, its work, its beautiful, its life. The sun has poured down on the Warf and its been opulent, even grabbed a free ice cream yesterday.

Later I went to a more planned performance and did ‘The Fool Truth’ at om-shan tea. This was amazing. The people were so inclusive and no bs, no politics, no trying to be anything, just good vibes, good tea, and sharing. Ariel n me ended up getting a ride home from Nick, who does the Free Folk Festival in June here in SF. Such a sweet guy! Please if you dig the Yoga, tea, and ornate but down to earth establishments, check out Om-Shan Tea its at 233 14th st, near Rainbow Grocery. Oh and my little play went good, I think a couple people had truly transformative experiences. And a kid was there which helped.

Jaguar Priests is on-line

It happen in 2004, Jaguar Priests, a hip hop theatre myth was created. It took the skills of at least fifty artists, making beats, writting words, creating combat….all kinds of amazing folk. To date this, in many ways, is the best piece of theatre I have created. It was a beautiful, dedicated cast. The passion of the actors comes thru in these clips. DOn’t know where many of them are…Lumenz? Darna? Savada? So many blessings to all who made this possible.

This play is a great way to learn about mythology, and the rise civilization. Its a fun way to get a new perspective on culture. Maybe you know a high school, college or theatre that would be interested in performing it?

let a brother know…see@blessitup.com
